Public Participation Meeting Set to Review Proposed 2017 Federally Funded Transportation Projects

Dayton, OH – The Miami Valley Regional Planning Commission (MVRPC) will hold a Public Participation Meeting to present proposed transportation projects being considered for Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) funding through the Surface Transportation Program (STP) and Transportation Alternatives (TA) Program.

The public may attend anytime between 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
 

The meeting will include a review of the DRAFT list of proposed transportation project applications received by MVRPC as a result of our recent solicitation of local jurisdictions for projects requesting regionally-controlled transportation funds.  All project-funding requests are being considered for SFY 2023 funding with potential for earlier funding as available.  Following the public comment period, staff will evaluate each project utilizing the MVRPC’s Project Funding Prioritization Decision-Making Process and recommend selected projects for funding to the MVRPC Board of Directors at the March 2018 meeting.

2017 STP and TA Applications Received

On September 7, 2017 the Board formally authorized MVRPC staff to solicit qualified member jurisdictions for new transportation projects using MVRPC regionally controlled federal funds (STP or TA). Subsequently, staff solicited MVRPC area jurisdictions beginning on September 7, 2017. These applications for Funds were received by the October 11, 2017 deadline.

Written comments will be accepted through Wednesday, November 15, 2017,  via the online comment form, at the above address, or via email to Paul Arnold, MVRPC’s Manager of Short Range Programs, at parnold@mvrpc.org.

At all MVRPC public participation meetings, interpreters for hearing impaired individuals or bi-lingual interpreters are available upon request.  Requests should be made at least one week prior to the meeting date.  Contact MVRPC at (937) 223-6323 or 1-800-750-0750 TTY/TDD to request an interpreter.  Parking validation for The Arts Garage will be distributed at the meeting.  The parking garage is located at 107 N. Ludlow Street across from the Schuster Performing Arts Center.  There are numerous Greater Dayton RTA transit routes convenient to MVRPC’s office on Courthouse Square, including Wright Stop Plaza.
