Executive Director's Update

Members and Future Members

February’s focus is on member retention and recruitment. As our members know, dues invoices were sent out in December. Already, an incredible 70% of members have renewed their membership with more than 2 months to spare! I am very thankful that you value your affiliation.

The Miami Valley Regional Planning Commission member organizations receive tangible member services from experienced staff. Members are also an integral participant in the regional decision-making process on important matters that enhance the Region’s quality of life and economic vitality.

To bring more to the Region, we have been meeting with current and former members on a new planning unit called a Rural Transportation Planning Organization (RTPO). The RTPO would provide jurisdictions outside of the Montgomery, Miami, Greene, and Warren County MPO area with long range transportation, bikeway and transit plans similar to those that our MPO members receive. In addition, we began developing a new summary of member benefits report that provides a recap to each local government. It is due out later this year.

Don’t be left out! All member jurisdictions benefit from the regional dialogue, collaboration and shared decision-making that is the cornerstone of MVRPC. This is a great time to be a part of MVRPC. Thank you to our 73 current board members for their collaborative spirit and focus to Shape the Region’s Future Together! We look forward to working with you in 2016!
