Dayton, OH – The annual election of officers for the Miami Valley Regional Planning Commission’s (MVRPC) Executive Committee and Institute for Livable & Equitable Communities Steering Committee were held on Thursday, March 6, 2025 following the regular monthly meeting. Members of the committee will serve a one year term beginning April 2025 through March 2026.
The Executive Committee is a subset of the Board of Directors, elected annually. It works with the Executive Director on the overall direction of the agency, including budget and strategic plan.
The Executive Officers for the Executive Committee for this term are as follows:
Chairperson: Sara Lommatzsch, Council member, City of Riverside
First Vice-Chairperson: Robin I. Oda, Mayor, City of Troy
Second Vice-Chairperson: Richard “Dick” Gould, Commissioner, Greene County
Third Vice-Chairperson: Rachael Vonderhaar, Commissioner, Preble County
“MVRPC is pleased to have City of Riverside Council Member Sara Lommatzsch continuing as chairperson of the Board of Directors,” said MVRPC Executive Director, Brian O. Martin. “We also welcome two new officers this year as Greene County Commissioner Dick Gould and Preble County Commissioner Rachael Vonderhaar step into leadership roles. Additionally, we recognize Mayor Robin Oda of Troy for beginning her first year as First Vice-Chairperson after serving as Second Vice-Chairperson last year”.

The MVRPC Institute for Livable & Equitable Communities Steering Committee (ISC) is a leadership board comprised of representatives from MVRPC member organizations or Institute funders who provide oversight, guidance and advisory leadership to accomplish the mission and vision for the MVRPC Institute for Livable & Equitable Communities. Current initiatives include the Regional Equity and Age Friendly Initiatives.
City of Dayton Commissioner, Matthew Joseph will serve as the ISC Chairperson for a second year.
“Dayton City Commissioner Joseph has been a member of The Institute for Livable & Equitable Communities since its formation. He has also served on MVRPC’s Board of Directors since 2006. We look forward to his constant advice and wisdom as we move ahead. His commitment to the betterment of our Region will prove invaluable as he leads this committee,” stated Martin.
