Meeting Set to Review Proposed 5310 Transportation Projects

Dayton, OH – The Miami Valley Regional Planning Commission (MVRPC) will hold a Public Participation Meeting to review the Proposed Program of Projects being considered for Federal Transit Administration (FTA) funding through the Enhanced Mobility for Seniors and Individuals with Disabilities Program (Section 5310).

The meeting will be held:

Wednesday, November 14, 2018
Goodwill Easter Seals - Eichelberger Conference Center
660 South Main Street, Dayton, Ohio 45402

The public may attend anytime between 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Meeting participants will review the DRAFT Program of Projects funded with Federal Transit Administration Fiscal Year 2018 allocations for the Dayton Urbanized Area for the Enhanced Mobility for Seniors and Individuals with Disabilities Program (Section 5310).  Funds are made available to transit agencies, governmental authorities, private providers of public transportation, and duly-formed private, not-for-profit organizations to assist in the provision of transportation for seniors and individuals with disabilities in Greene, Miami, Montgomery and northern Warren Counties.  Capital projects proposed include vehicles, communication equipment, and infrastructure, such as sidewalk and bus stop improvements, when those improvements can be shown to result in greater access for people with disabilities to regularly scheduled transit service.  Mobility Management projects and certain operational projects are also eligible.  These projects were derived from the Region’s Public Transit – Human Services Transportation Coordination (HSTC) Plan.  Following the public comment period, which ends November 26, 2018, staff and members of the Human Services Transportation Coordination Council will evaluate each project according to needs identified in the HSTC plan and recommend selected projects to MVRPC’s Board of Directors for funding at the December 6, 2018 MVRPC board meeting.

If you are unable to attend the meeting, you may review the materials outlining the proposed projects on MVRPC’s website.  You may also review the materials at the MVRPC offices, 10 N. Ludlow Street, Suite 700, Dayton, OH, 45402, during regular business hours (8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday).  Written comments will be accepted through Monday, November 26, 2018, at the above address or via email to Kim Lahman, MVRPC’s Director of Sustainable Planning, at klahman@mvrpc.org.
