Dayton, OH – The Miami Valley Regional Planning Commission (MVRPC) is seeking photographs of the Region and is offering a prize for one lucky winner. Take a photo of a street, park, vista, bike trail, or other public space, in the Miami Valley Region that you love, and send it to MVRPC. To enter, post your photo to MVRPC’s Facebook page or on Twitter with the tag @mvrpc and #planmiamivalley. You will be entered into a drawing to win your choice of an annual Link Bikeshare membership, a monthly Greater Dayton Regional Transit Authority bus pass, or a gas card valued at $50. The winner will be selected through a random drawing on Monday, November 30, 2015.
“MVRPC’s photo contest is in conjunction with our Long Range Transportation Plan Update. We are planning for the future of the Region and need input from residents,” stated Brian O. Martin, AICP, Executive Director of the Miami Valley Regional Planning Commission. “We are hoping this photo contest will open up opportunities to discuss the plan with others by sharing what they love about our Region, and our public spaces,” Martin continued.
MVRPC, the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) for the Miami Valley, develops a transportation plan every 4 years to guide the effective investment of public funds in the regional transportation system. The Plan is “long-range” and supports all modes of transportation in the Region – roadway, freight, transit, bicycle, and pedestrian. The Plan is developed through a collaborative process. It lists projects that reflect shared values from various Regional stakeholders, including elected officials, planners, engineers, businesses, special interest groups, and the public. Established in 1964, the Miami Valley Regional Planning Commission promotes collaboration among communities, stakeholders, and residents to advance regional priorities.
