Dayton, OH - The Miami Valley Regional Planning Commission (MVRPC) will hold a Public Participation Meeting on the DRAFT Bikeways Plan Update for the Miami Valley. MVRPC invites the public to comment on the draft plan for bicycle transportation for the Region.
The public meeting will be held as follows:
Wednesday, June 3, 2015
Miami Valley Regional Planning Commission
10 N. Ludlow Street
Suite 700
Courthouse Square - Dayton, OH
4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
The meeting will consist of an open house for attendees to review the draft plan document, policy and program recommendations, and maps of proposed bikeways. This is the main opportunity to provide feedback on the DRAFT Bikeways Plan Update. The draft plan will provide an update to the existing regional inventory of bicycle facilities by evaluating, prioritizing and recommending future connecting links. The emphasis will be on creating a complete system of shared-use paths with connecting on-street bikeways. The draft plan includes a vision map that identifies a connected system of bikeways, a new method for evaluating low-stress cycling facilities, and a list of priority projects. In addition, the draft plan will suggest bicycle-related policies and programs to educate Miami Valley residents about bicycle transportation opportunities.
If you are unable to attend the meeting, the DRAFT Bikeways Update will also be available for public review on MVRPC’s web site at www.mvrpc.org/bike-plan-update on or before Wednesday, May 13, 2015. You can also review the list at the MVRPC offices, 10 N. Ludlow Street, Suite 700, Dayton, OH, 45402, during regular business hours (8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday). Written comments will be accepted through June 12, 2015, at the above address or via e-mail to Kjirsten Frank Hoppe, MVRPC’s Regional Planner, at kfrank.hoppe@mvrpc.org.
