Completing our Region’s bikeway network, by including bike-friendly amenities/facilities on roadways, will help make cycling for transportation safer and even more popular. In the Miami Valley Bike Plan Update 2015, our agency has some recommendations for improvements that will enable residents to reach the trails and other destinations from the general roadway network. The updated plan recommends improvements such as protected bike lanes, cycle tracks, and advanced intersection treatments that make sharing the road more comfortable for cyclists and motorists. The Miami Valley Regional Planning Commission is committed to assisting our members build a complete network for cyclists, and the Miami Valley Bike Plan Update 2015 will serve as a guide for accomplishing this goal.
