Dayton, OH – The Miami Valley Regional Planning Commission (MVRPC) partnered with the Cities of Fairborn and Huber Heights, Bath Township, the Miami Conservancy District, B-W Greenway Community Land Trust, and WPAFB to facilitate the development of a Non-Point Source Implementation Strategy (NPS-IS or “9 Element” Plan) for the Hebble Creek-Mad River watershed in Greene and Montgomery Counties.
The NPS-IS identifies water quality impairments, pollution reduction goals, and projects to progress toward those goals. Nutrient pollution reductions from both urban storm water runoff and agricultural runoff are objectives of this planning effort, to improve local water quality and to contribute to Ohio’s overall effort to meet goals of the Gulf of Mexico Hypoxia Task Force. The DRAFT of the NPS-IS is available for public review and comment in advance of its submission to Ohio Environmental Protection Agency (Ohio EPA) for their review and endorsement.
