The federal legislation, known as the FAST Act, the Fixing America’s Surface Transportation Act, defines the stewardship role of the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) in the implementation of the mandated Metropolitan Transportation Planning Process. As a result of the planning requirements, the federal agencies are required to review and certify, at least every four (4) years, that the Transportation Planning Processes of the Metropolitan Planning Organizations (MPOs), such as MVRPC, are in compliance. This virtual public meeting is part of a review that will assess compliance with federal regulations pertaining to the transportation planning process conducted by the MVRPC, ODOT, public transit operators, and local units of government.
