The regularly scheduled Miami Valley Disaster Recovery meeting for August will be a workshop to discuss the Miami Valley Regional Resiliency Plan. Please register to join us on Thursday, August 11th from 9:00am-11:30am for the Miami Valley Regional Resiliency Plan Stakeholder Workshop.
Please contact Elizabeth Baxter if you are interested in attending this workshop, Manager of Disaster Recovery & Economic Development Planning, at ebaxter@mvrpc.org or call 937.223.6323.
As the leader for long-term community recovery from the Memorial Day 2019 tornadoes, MVRPC will be hosting the first regional workshop to gather information to develop a six county pre-disaster recovery plan. This plan will provide recommended actions for local governments, emergency responders and community organizations to take before a disaster to make the relief and response stages stronger, while enhancing the region’s resources to ensure resiliency to future hazards. The event is FREE and will be held virtually on Zoom. Registration is required and the Zoom link for the meeting will be included in your registration confirmation email.
The Miami Valley Regional Resiliency Plan will be based on the Department of Homeland Security’s National Disaster Recovery Framework that is structured around six Recovery Support Functions used to help local communities identify how to coordinate with regional, state, and federal resources to prepare, protect against, respond to, and recover from hazards.
A critical component of this first workshop will utilize the results from a pre-workshop survey. Regardless of your ability to attend the workshop on August 11th, we ask that you take a moment to respond to the brief survey using the link below. Please share the survey link with others in your organizations who have important feedback on the critical elements of an effective disaster recovery and resiliency plan.
