Dayton, OH – The Miami Valley Regional Planning Commission (MVRPC) is pleased to announce the release of the 2016 Annual Report entitled “Our Community, Better Connected.”  It is available for download.

“The report’s theme – “Our Community, Better Connected” – emphasizes how MVRPC serves as the over-arching organization coordinating with local, state, and federal governments.  Since proper transportation, environmental, and land use planning are vital to the Miami Valley Region, our members understand how important it is to cooperate and establish a collaborative approach in order to be successful,” explained MVRPC’s Executive Director, Brian O. Martin, AICP.  

“Instead of the usual “article” format, we decided to take a new approach with the 2016 Annual Report.  It follows a bullet point format that links our various initiatives, programs, and projects directly back to the four goals outlined in our Strategic Plan,” Martin continued.

The report includes an introductory letter from MVRPC’s Chairperson, Beavercreek Township Trustee Carol Graff and Martin highlighting the agencies 2016 accomplishments. In addition, three local transportation projects in Fairborn, Tipp City, and Moraine are showcased along with photographs from throughout the Miami Valley.

Established in 1964, the Miami Valley Regional Planning Commission promotes collaboration among communities, stakeholders, and residents to advance regional priorities.  MVRPC is a forum and resource where the Board of Directors identifies priorities and develops public policy and collaborative strategies to improve quality of life throughout the Miami Valley Region.  MVRPC performs various regional planning activities, including air quality, water quality, transportation, land use, research and GIS.  As the designated Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO), MVRPC is responsible for transportation planning in Greene, Miami and Montgomery Counties and parts of northern Warren County. MVRPC's areawide water quality planning designation encompasses five (5) counties: Darke, Preble plus the three MPO counties.
