Dayton, OH – The Miami Valley Regional Planning Commission (MVRPC) will hold a Public Participation Meeting to present:

• A DRAFT list of proposed transportation projects being considered for Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) funding through the Surface Transportation Program (STP), the Congestion Mitigation/Air Quality (CMAQ) program and Transportation Alternatives (TA) program.
• A DRAFT list of proposed Program of Projects which includes items being considered for Federal Transit Administration (FTA) funding through Enhanced Mobility for Seniors and Individuals with Disabilities Program (Section 5310).

The meeting will include:

• A review of the DRAFT list of proposed transportation project applications received by MVRPC as a result of our recent solicitation of local jurisdictions for projects requesting regionally-controlled transportation funds. All project funding requests are being considered for SFY 2022 funding with potential for earlier funding, as available. Following the public comment period, staff will evaluate each project utilizing the MVRPC’s Project Funding Prioritization Decision-Making Process and recommend selected projects for funding to the MVRPC Board of Directors at, or before, the March 2, 2017 meeting.
• A review of the DRAFT list of proposed Program of Projects to be funded with FTA FY2015 and 2016 allocations for the Dayton Urbanized Area. Section 5310 provides federal funds to transit agencies, governmental authorities, private providers of public transportation and duly-formed private, not-for-profit organizations, to acquire accessible vehicles in order to improve access to the community for seniors and individuals with disabilities in Greene, Miami, Montgomery and northern Warren Counties. Capital projects can also include infrastructure such as sidewalk and bus stop improvements, if those projects are to result in greater access for people with disabilities to regularly scheduled transit service. Following the public comment period, staff will evaluate each project according to pre-determined scoring criteria and recommend selected projects to the MVRPC Board of Directors for final approval.
