b'Institute for Livable & Equitable Communities and Advocates for Basic Legal Equality receive Environmental JusticeCollaborative Problem-Solving Cooperative AgreementThe Institute for Livable & Equitable Communities partnered with the Advocates for Basic Legal Equality (ABLE) for a grant application that was recently selected nationally for an award by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The Environmental Justice Collaborative Problem-Solving Cooperative Agreement (EJ CPS) provides financial assistance to eligible organizations working to address local environmental or public health issues in their communities. The program assists recipients in building collaborative partnerships with other stakeholders (e.g., local businesses and industry, local government, medical service providers, academia) to develop solutions to environmental or public health issue(s) at the community level. Through this collaborative application with ABLE, the ILEC will seek to build the Miami Valleys capacity to advance environmental justice and formalize the Miami Valley Environmental Justice Partnership, a workgroup coordinating environmental justice efforts across the region. ILEC Receives Environmental Justice Grant with Urban League of Greater Southwestern OhioThe Institute for Livable & Equitable Communities (ILEC) partnered with the Urban League of Greater Southwestern Ohio to pursue the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) Outreach Grant Program. The program will provide funds to facilitate the promotion of the ACP and increase awareness of and participation in the ACP among eligible households. The ACP was established by Congress to help lower-income families afford reliable, high-speed internet. Its part of the Federal Communications Commissions mission to ensure that all people, regardless of their income can access the internet services and computer technology that are essential to our modern world. A portion of these funds will help to supplement some of the outreach activities needed to promote the ACP across the Miami Valley. 19'
