b'MVRPC 2022 ANNUAL REPORTMVRPC Welcomes Shelby County, Cities of Sidneyand Eaton as MembersODOT and MVRPC executed the agreement required to initiate the new Regional Transportation Planning Organization (RTPO) pilot covering Preble, Darke, and Shelby Counties. This new program will bring considerable planning services to our rural members. ODOT currently funds RTPOs across the State using their Statewide Planning and Research federal funds. Just like Metropolitan Planning Organizations (MPOs), the future RTPO will include a policy and a technical board, prepare and adopt a long range transportation plan, assemble a transportation improvement program, and identify crash priority locations.The initial kick-off meeting was heldDarke Countyon Tuesday, August 16, 2022, at the Dayton Realtors. RepresentativesVillage of Ansonia, Village of Arcanum, Village of Bradford, City of from organizations in each of theGreenville, Village of New Madison, Village of Union City, Village of counties, Preble, Darke, and Shelby,Versailles, Village of Wayne Lakes, Darke County Commission, Darke were in attendance, as well as theCounty ParksOhio Department of TransportationPreble CountyDistricts 7 & 8, cities, villages, transit agencies, park districts, bicycleCity of Eaton, Preble County Commissiongroups and other interested partiesShelby Countyfrom the three counties. During the meeting, the group concludedVillage of Anna, Village of Botkins, Village of Fort Loramie, Village of their official name will be the RTPOJackson Center, Village of Kettlersville, Village of Lockington, Village of Steering Committee. The committeePort Jefferson, Village of Russia, City of Sidney, Shelby County Commissionwill hold their quarterly meetings every third Wednesday of the month at 2:00 p.m. with each county taking turns hosting the committee meeting. The first step towards achieving official RTPO designation is the development of a Regional Transportation Plan. The Plan will work to advance transportation planning and partnerships.
