ARRA Stimulus Projects Funded

5 Feb 2010 - The list of projects authorized by FHWA to receive ARRA stimulus funding is now available.

ARRA FHWA funds were allocated to Ohio in the amount of $936 million. Of this amount, $161 million was required to be sub allocated to the eight large urbanized areas, such as Dayton. The Dayton urban area share is $17.3 million. These funds were allocated to MVRPC for project selection purposes. The remaining $774 million will be allocated to specific projects at the discretion of ODOT.

On Thursday, February 5, 2009, the MVRPC Board of Directors adopted an Action Plan to make sure the Region benefits from the 2009 Economic Recovery Bill. As a result, MVRPC solicited for new potential Economic Recovery projects for the Dayton Area $17.3 million allocation.

MVRPC held a Public Participation Meeting to present proposed new transportation projects being considered for American Recovery and Reinvestment Act Bill funding (Economic Stimulus Bill Funding) on Wednesday, March 4, 2009 at the MVRPC offices.

Following the public comment period, staff evaluated the projects and will make recommendations to the Board at its April 2, 2009 meeting.

In addition to these new projects, the MVRPC Board previously authorized the use of MVRPC sub allocated funds for four existing TIP programmed projects (Adobe Acrobat Reader:27 kb).

ODOT recently announced their selection of additional Dayton area projects (Adobe Acrobat Reader:29 kb) updated 7 July 2009 under the state discretionary allocation.

ARRA transit funds are also sub allocated to the Dayton urbanized area. The Dayton urbanized area received nearly $22.3 million of Federal Transit Funds. MVRPC sub allocated these transit funds to the Region's three transit agencies based on the MVRPC Board approved allocation formula. The three transit agencies submitted transit projects (Adobe Acrobat Reader:36 kb) to MVRPC for approval.
